Who we are :

Amos Scripture Care Trust is a small Christian charity. Our main office is situated within St. Andrew's and St. George's West Church in Shandwick Place, Edinburgh.

The Trust came into being as the result of one person's concern about society's lack of interest in the Bible. Bruce Crerar was inspired to produce credit card-sized cards, each with an attractive photograph on one side and a Bible verse on the other. The work flourished and in 1995 the trust was formally established.

The aim of the Trust is to encourage Christians to spread the Word of God by making the cards readily available to a generaton almost totally out of touch with the Bible and its teachings.

What we do :

The production of the cards occurs in two stages. The initial stage of design and printing is carried out in Edinburgh, at St Andrew's and St. George's West Church, Shandwick Place. The cards are designed on our computer using a scanner to scan in photographs. The finished design is completed in graphics software, and linked to our database. The ‘printouts’ are then sent to our volunteer teams who cut, fold and laminate them.

From the outset, we have specialised in customising cards for the local situation, using photographs or designs provided by people in our congregations and others. We have had many orders for customised cards to mark a special occasion, e.g. a church centenary, the induction of a new minister, or a baptism. For such cards, people can choose their own text and image.
