Trust Funding

The Trust is funded partly from the legacy left by the founder, the late Bruce Crerar; partly from donations from those using the cards, and also from gifts from wellwishers”.

The Trust is funded in the following ways: through donations made following the supply/ordering of cards, donations made by people who simply wish to give practical support to the work of the Trust, very occasionally small grants made by other organisations for a particularly purpose such as the funds made available by the Volunteer Centre Edinburgh to allow us to pursue our Investing in Volunteers accreditation.

The Trust’s founder, Mr. Bruce Crerar, left the Trust a legacy in his will, for investment by the trustees, as a means of funding the employment of a part-time Volunteer co-ordinator and to support the Trust more generally by going some way to providing a steady income to secure the Trust’s financial future.

Although not a source of financial funding themselves we would like to mention the occasional donations of equipment we have received from other organisations, such as the Volunteer Centre Edinburgh, and individuals. We have always been very grateful for such donations as they help to minimise our running costs.
