God's Patchwork Quilt

The blues of sky and sea are placed
with blocks of green and brown
The colours blend together
to form a landscape crown
Shades and tones are added
to create the land we know
The hills and dales, the woods and rivers,
vast seas and oceans grow.

An upward glance takes us to heaven
passing on the way
The fluffy whites of clouds in summer
as they bob and sway
The yellow glow of warming sunshine
brightens up our face
And the cooling breeze of autumn
brings freshness in its place.

The wonder of His creation
is something to behold
For every day that passes
we see another quilt unfold
And as God creates the seasons
we watch his skilful hand
Stitch together scenes of beauty
of a promised land.
